Shropshire Barn Owl Group recommends that landowners refrain from using highly toxic rat poisons known assecond-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGAR).
Wherever we find a dead Barn Owl we send it to the Predatory Bird Monitoring Scheme for analysis.
Their latest report shows that 87% of Barn Owls analysed had detectable liver residues of one or more SGAR.
